The story of Gina Diamond’s Flower Co.

IT STARTED WITH FLOWERS

OUR STORY

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

The story of Gina Diamond’s Flower Co. began in 2016, when Gina Diamond took a leap of faith and started a flower business from her home in Madison, Mississippi. What began simply—with flowers, creativity, and a love for making things beautiful—quickly began to grow.

By 2018, flowers, containers, ribbon, and supplies had taken over nearly every available closet and corner of her home, and it became clear that the business needed a home of its own. Gina found a small, humble space tucked behind the buildings of downtown Madison, Mississippi. It had no real street presence and needed plenty of attention, but it had possibility.

I wasn’t looking for a retail store. I simply needed somewhere to work.

Gina and her very first team member went to work. They cleaned, painted, added new window treatments and rugs, and gave the little space a fresh new life. Once it was finished, another idea began to take shape: perhaps there was room for a little retail, too.

A trip to market followed, where Gina selected gifts and home accessories centered around something she had always loved—entertaining and bringing people together. Those first purchases became the beginning of the gift shop, and the response was immediate.

Customers embraced it, the business grew quickly, and before long, the charming little shop was bursting at the seams.

The search for a larger home began. Space after space was considered, but nothing felt quite right until Gina found one with beautiful windows and room to grow—so much room, in fact, that it seemed almost too large at the time. Gina and her husband, Lester, decided to take the leap and lease it.

On the very day they were to sign the lease, Gina learned that she had breast cancer.

The lease went unsigned as her attention turned to treatment and recovery. Near the end of her treatment, however, Gina asked Lester if he thought the space might still be available. He made the call.

It was.
This time, they signed the lease.

Today, the space that once seemed almost impossibly large is filled to the brim with flowers, plants, gifts, beautiful things for the home, and a business that has grown far beyond what Gina could have imagined when she began designing flowers from home.

THE TEAM BEHIND IT ALL

As the business has grown, so has the team behind it.

Gina Diamond’s Flower Co. is fortunate to have an extraordinarily talented group of people from many different backgrounds, each bringing individual experience, expertise, and perspective to Gina Diamond’s Flower Co. • Madison, Mississippi the shop. Together, the floral designers alone bring more than 150 years of combined floral experience.

The larger team includes floral support, merchandising and plant specialists, bridal registry consultants, delivery and shipping team members, e-commerce and social media, human resources, and many others working behind the scenes to make each customer’s experience feel seamless.

What began with one woman designing flowers from her home has become a team of people who genuinely care about what they create—and, even more importantly, the people they create it for.

MORE THAN A FLOWER SHOP

Flowers will always be at the heart of Gina Diamond’s Flower Co.

From everyday arrangements and meaningful sympathy flowers to celebrations, weddings, events, and flowers chosen simply because they make a day a little brighter, the floral department remains at the center of the shop. Customers can order beautifully designed arrangements for delivery or visit the showroom and choose something ready to enjoy from the Grab & Go Flower Cooler.

But somewhere along the way, Gina Diamond’s Flower Co. became much more than a flower shop.

Today, the shop is filled with an ever-changing collection of houseplants, permanent botanicals, gifts, home accessories, ribbon, custom bows, entertaining pieces, gourmet foods, and thoughtful hostess gifts. The bridal registry offers couples a personal approach to creating a home of their own, with an emphasis on beautiful tables, layered patterns, serving pieces, linens, and the things that make gathering around a table feel special.

The gourmet collection is approached much the same way. Products are tasted, recipes are tried, and items are selected with real life in mind. The team does not simply want to tell customers what something is; they want to be able to suggest how to serve it, what to pair it with, or how it might make entertaining just a little easier.

Gift presentation matters, too. Purchases of $25 or more, as well as bridal gifts, receive complimentary gift wrapping because a beautifully presented package is considered part of the gift itself.

Throughout the year, floral workshops bring another dimension to the shop. Guests gather around the worktables for step-by-step floral instruction, share a meal, learn something new, and very often leave having made new friends along the way.

Whether someone comes through the doors looking for flowers, a plant, a wedding gift,
something beautiful for the table, or simply a little inspiration, the goal is the same: to make the
experience personal, welcoming, and worth returning for.

THE BLOOMING TABLE

The same love of flowers, food, beautiful tables, and bringing people together eventually became an award-winning book written by Gina.

The Blooming Table: A Collection of Recipes, Florals, and Beautiful Tables brings together recipes, floral inspiration, table settings, entertaining ideas, and many of the traditions that have shaped both Gina’s home and Gina Diamond’s Flower Co.

More than a collection of pretty tables and recipes, the book reflects a philosophy that has been
part of the shop from the beginning: entertaining does not have to be complicated or perfect to be
meaningful.

A beautiful table can be elaborate or simple. The food can be made from scratch or picked up on the way home and made a little more special. Flowers can fill a room or sit in a small vase beside a plate. What matters most is that people have been invited, welcomed, and given a reason to linger.

For Gina Diamond’s Flower Co., The Blooming Table is not separate from the story of the shop. It is another expression of the same idea—that beauty and hospitality have the power to bring people together.

WHAT’S NEXT

ROOTED IN THE COMMUNITY

While Gina Diamond’s Flower Co. has grown well beyond its beginnings, Madison, Mississippi, remains home.

The community supported the business when it was little more than an idea taking shape in a home studio. It followed the shop into its first tiny location, supported its move into a larger space, recommended it to friends, celebrated milestones alongside the team, and allowed the business to become part of countless important moments in the lives of local families.

That relationship is never taken for granted.

Gina Diamond’s Flower Co. is proud to be a member of the Madison the City Business Network and grateful for opportunities to support charitable organizations, schools, community events, local causes, and the people and organizations working to make the community stronger.

Giving back is not viewed simply as a business responsibility. It is a way of saying thank you to the community that helped a little flower business grow.

A note from the team:

Thank you for supporting local, sending our flowers, attending our workshops, celebrating life’s special moments with us and allowing us to be part of your lives. We wouldn’t be here without you.

THE HEART OF IT ALL

A great deal has changed since flowers and supplies first began taking over every available corner of Gina’s home.

  • The heart of Gina Diamond’s Flower Co. has not.
  • There is a belief that flowers make ordinary days better.
  • That a beautiful table makes people want to stay a little longer.
  • That a thoughtfully chosen gift can sometimes say what words cannot.
  • That hospitality is not about impressing people, but about making them feel welcome.
  • And that beauty should never be reserved only for life’s biggest occasions.
  • Sometimes the flowers are for a wedding.
  • Sometimes they are sent when someone is celebrating, grieving, recovering, or simply needs to know that someone is thinking about them.
  • And sometimes they are purchased for no particular reason at all—except that it is Tuesday and flowers would make Tuesday better.

That may be the simplest explanation of Gina Diamond’s Flower Co.

It is a flower shop, certainly. But it is also a place built around beauty, hospitality, creativity, celebration, and connection.

Whether visiting the shop in Madison, Mississippi, or discovering Gina Diamond’s Flower Co. from hundreds of miles away, the hope is that everyone feels the same thing:

Welcome. We’re so glad you’re here.
